The Canada Cup International Women's Fastpitch Tournament has been held at Softball City in South Surrey, BC Canada, annually since 1993 with the exception of 1997.

At the centre of it all each year was the best in the world of women's fastpitch competing on the diamonds at Softball City for the coveted Canada Cup. Canada Cup fans have been treated throughout the years to exciting, intense championship competition that included spectacular “you had to see it to believe it” plays.

Over the years, one tournament grew to four and Cloverdale Athletic Park was added as a second permanent Canada Cup playing venue. The Special Olympics Friendship Division was added in 1996, the International Faspitch Futures Tournament (19U) in 2002 and the 16 and Under Fastpitch Showcase Tournament in 2005.

Not only does this premiere international softball competition provide elite players a chance to play and the sports fan the chance to see top notch competition - there is something for everyone at a Canada Cup. From opening ceremonies to special promotions, prize draws and family entertainment, the Canada Cup host committee and its hundreds of committed volunteers have always strove, from the very beginning, to provide all participants with a very special sports experience.

The Canada Cup was started by Chairman, Glen Todd in 1993 as an international women's fastpitch developmental tournament. The Canada Cup became known as one of the best competitive tournaments in the world and instrumental for many international teams preparing for the Olympic Games and World Championships.

But what the Canada Cup Host Committee has been most proud of throughout the years is is the profound positive impact the tournaments at all levels has had on the lives of young female athletes.
